International Day of the National Parks. (24 de agosto)

Every August 24 the International Day commemorates National Parks.

In these units the ecological integrity of one or more ecosystems are protected and are representative samples of the natural diversity of each country.

The visitors’ entrance is permitted for scientific, educational, recreational and cultural purposes under special conditions.

In the case of Ecuador, there PANE area (National Park of Ecuador) which covers 10% of its territory. Many indigenous groups are based on the resources that the National Parks and other protected areas.
