Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer (16 de septiembre)
In 1994, the General Assembly proclaimed September 16 International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer to commemorate the day that was signed in Montreal.
He invited all States to devote the Day to promote activities related to the objectives of the Protocol and its amendments activities. The ozone layer, a fragile layer of gas, protects the Earth from harmful rays of the sun, and therefore helps to preserve life on the planet.
Ozone is produced when large amounts of energy are contacted with oxygen molecules.
The removal of controlled uses of ozone-depleting substances and related reductions have not only helped protect the ozone layer for the current generation and those to come, but have also greatly contributed to global initiatives to cope with change climate; They have protected human health and ecosystems by reducing harmful ultraviolet radiation reaching the Earth.
